SWAT: A moderate earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale jolted Swat and nearby regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre.
The tremors, which originated at a depth of 50 kilometers with the epicenter located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, were felt across Swat and adjoining areas, triggering panic among residents.
Eyewitnesses reported that buildings trembled for several seconds, prompting people to flee their homes and workplaces in fear. Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.
Local authorities, along with emergency response teams, are actively monitoring the situation and collecting information from the affected areas to ensure public safety.
