Budget airline HK Express removed two passengers before take-off from a Hong Kong-bound flight from Da Nang in Vietnam, after their fight over accusations of seeing prostitutes and physical abuse turned chaotic.
The low-cost unit of Cathay Pacific Airways confirmed that the pair were engaged in disruptive behaviour on Sunday while boarding the flight from Da Nang to Hong Kong, which caused a delay of nearly 90 minutes.
A video circulating online shows a Hong Kong couple arguing before boarding Flight UO559 on Sunday night.
The footage captured the woman loudly berating her boyfriend in the waiting area, accusing him of visiting prostitutes and physical abuse, and claiming she had been “punched 40 times”.
The man repeatedly attempted to leave the waiting area, but in vain. She further escalated her allegations, referencing an alleged incident on October 1 with “hospital records” and shouting “all of Hong Kong knows about your bad deeds”.
The situation worsened once they boarded the plane.
The woman, who was unable to secure a seat next to her boyfriend, began a heated argument with three flight attendants.
