Suresh Raina names two players MI should retain for IPL 2026
Raina, known for his sharp cricketing insights, believes that the five-time champions must hold on to two of their most impactful players — Rohit Sharma and Trent Boult — as they look to rebuild for the next season. Raina emphasized the importance of retaining Rohit Sharma, under whose captaincy MI reached unprecedented heights. He highlighted how Rohit’s leadership, consistency, and tactical acumen have defined MI’s success over the years.
“They should hold him (Rohit Sharma); he has won a lot of trophies for them,” said Raina while talking to Star Sports.
Apart from Rohit, Raina was all praise for New Zealand pacer Trent Boult, describing him as a “gun player” and someone whose left-arm pace brings unique value to the side.
“They should retain him (Trent Boult); he is a gun player. The advantage that he has as a left-arm bowler is something you don’t get easily,” Raina added.
