The Board of Directors of Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) has approved the appointment of Faisal Sattar as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Sources informed that Faisal Sattar has been appointed as CEO PRAL for a period of three years on a lucrative compensation package.
It is pertinent to mention that PRAL had engaged a headhunting firm to identify and shortlist suitable candidates for the position prior to finalizing the appointment.
Faisal Sattar is a seasoned business executive with extensive leadership experience in the telecom and technology sectors. He has previously served as Chief Executive Officer of several prominent organizations, including Engro Enfrashare and the Universal Service Fund Company.
The position of CEO PRAL had fallen vacant following the completion of the tenure of Amir Malik, who was not offered an extension. In the interim, the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) assigned the look-after charge of CEO PRAL to Hamid Attique, a former Member Inland Revenue (Operations), FBR, to manage the day-to-day affairs of the company.
Faisal Sattar joined Engro as Chief Executive Officer of Engro Enfrashare (Private) Limited in July 2020. Prior to this, he served as Vice President at Jazz Business. His earlier career includes key leadership roles such as CEO at Link Dot Net, Chief Technology Officer at JazzCash, CEO at the Universal Service Fund Company, and CTO at Wateen Telecom.
With professional experience spanning the Middle East, Africa, and the United States, Faisal Sattar brings over 25 years of expertise in strategic technology management, business development, and project management, along with in-depth knowledge of Pakistan’s telecom industry.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Cornell University, USA.
