ADQ, an active sovereign investor driving growth and prosperity for Abu Dhabi, has inaugurated a newly refurbished basketball court at Khalifa University as part of its ongoing collaboration with the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The new court underscores ADQ’s commitment to strengthening social infrastructure as a core pillar of long-term development, through investment in sports facilities that serve as shared spaces for connection, wellbeing, and inclusion. By expanding access to high-quality venues and encouraging participation in active lifestyles, these courts support physical health, social interaction, and cohesion, contributing to resilient and thriving societies across the Emirate.

Following the refurbishments at Zayed Sports City and Capital Garden, the Khalifa University court represents the next milestone in ADQ’s collaboration with the NBA. Together, these projects reflect a growing network of community assets designed to engage young people and families, and to inspire participation in sport.

The unveiling ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting by H.E Prof. Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, Anas Jawdat Albarguthi, Group Chief Operating Officer at ADQ, and David Watts, NBA Head of Middle East Strategy & Development. Following the ceremony, student athletes from the university took to the court for a training session, bringing the refurbished facility to life.
