UK, France under fire as Trump threatens to end support

Trump said the UK declined to participate in efforts aimed at toppling Iran’s government.

US President Donald Trump has strongly criticized the United Kingdom and France for refusing to join military action against Iran, warning that Washington may withdraw its support if allies fail to stand with the United States.

In a statement shared on social media, Trump said the UK declined to participate in efforts aimed at toppling Iran’s government, while France allegedly blocked aircraft carrying military equipment to Israel from using its airspace.

The U.S. president accused France of being “very unhelpful” regarding Iran, adding that such actions would not be forgotten.

Referring to global fuel supply concerns linked to the Strait of Hormuz, Trump suggested that countries facing shortages of jet fuel should purchase it from the United States, emphasizing that America has ample reserves. He added that nations unwilling to rely on Washington should “have the courage” to secure oil themselves from the region.

Trump further warned that the U.S. would no longer extend unconditional support to its allies. “You will have to learn to fight on your own. The United States will not always be there for you, just as you were not with us,” he said.

He also claimed that Iran had been “largely destroyed,” asserting that the most difficult phase of the conflict was already over and urging countries to secure their own energy resources.
