PMD issues flood warning for KP and Kashmir

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a flood warning for April 7 and 8, predicting rising water levels and possible flash floods in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and nearby areas.

According to the advisory, the Kabul River at Nowshera may reach low to medium flood levels during this period. The department also warned that flash flooding is expected in tributaries such as the Kohat Toi, Kurram, and Gomal rivers, as well as in streams and nullahs in Kashmir.

Urban flooding is also likely in cities including Peshawar, Mardan, and Nowshera due to expected rainfall and water runoff.

The PMD has advised authorities to stay alert and take necessary steps to handle the situation. Residents living in low-lying and vulnerable areas, especially near streams and nullahs, have been urged to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during these days.
