Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a major setback for the industrial sector, suspending gas supply to industrial consumers for 24 hours amid an ongoing gas shortage.
According to the spokesperson, the suspension will remain in effect from Sunday, April 12 at 8:00 AM until Monday, April 13 at 8:00 AM, impacting both industrial users and captive power plants.
SSGC officials stated that the decision was taken as a necessary step to manage declining gas reserves, ensure equitable distribution and stabilize system pressure through improved line pack.
Despite the disruption to industries the company has assured that efforts are being made to maintain uninterrupted gas supply for domestic consumers.
The spokesperson also cautioned the public against relying on unverified reports circulating on social media, urging them to follow only official updates for accurate information.
