Meghan Trainor cancels “Get In Girl” tour, cites family priorities

Singer says balancing new album, tour prep and motherhood became overwhelming.

Meghan Trainor has announced the cancellation of her upcoming “Get In Girl” tour, citing the challenges of balancing her music career with family responsibilities following the arrival of her newborn child.

The Grammy-winning singer shared the news through a detailed statement on social media, where she expressed regret over the decision and apologized to fans who were eagerly anticipating the tour.

“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour,” she wrote. “Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”

Trainor further acknowledged that the decision was emotionally difficult but necessary, emphasizing that her priority at this stage is to focus on her family and personal life. She added that she deeply values her fans’ support and hopes to return to touring in the future.

The “Get In Girl” tour was originally scheduled to kick off on June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan, with a series of performances planned across major U.S. cities, including New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The tour was set to conclude on August 15 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

While no official reason beyond family commitments was provided, online speculation suggested that lower-than-expected ticket sales may have also contributed to the decision, although this has not been confirmed by the singer or her team.

Trainor recently expanded her family with husband Daryl Sabara, welcoming their third child via surrogate earlier this year. She has often spoken publicly about prioritizing motherhood alongside her music career.

Despite stepping back from touring, Trainor is continuing her music work and is preparing for the release of her seventh studio album, “Toy With Me,” scheduled for release on April 24.
