85 Percent Target Of Polio Drive Achieved: Health Authority

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Oct, 2025) The five-day anti-polio campaign, which began in all tehsils and towns of Rawalpindi district on October 13, entered its 4th day on Thursday.

District Health Officer Dr Waqar Ahmed said that the immunisation campaign was in full swing and as many as 85 per cent target of the campaign had been achieved.

Under the ongoing vigorous drive, he said, over 900,105 children have so far been administered the polio vaccine, while the set target to cover 105,775,6 children would be achieved by October 17.

He informed that as many as 69,491 are still missing, being out of the city or not at home; however, the district health authority is making all-out efforts to ensure all eligible children receive the life-saving vaccine.

Dr Waqar advised parents to come forward and fulfil their obligation of ensuring vaccination of their children to help eliminate the crippling disease.
