PAF’s JF-17 Thunder Block III aircraft participate in joint air exercise in Azerbaijan, ISPR

Rawalpindi: A contingent of Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) latest JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the international air exercise “Indus Shield Alpha.” The exercise features experienced PAF personnel including both air and ground crew, ISPR

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the non-stop flight from Pakistan to Azerbaijan, the PAF successfully demonstrated air-to-air refueling capabilities. The aerial refueling operation was carried out by a PAF IL-78 air tanker, showcasing high operational proficiency and reflecting the extended-range capabilities of the JF-17 Block III aircraft.

The primary objective of “Indus Shield Alpha” is to enhance expertise in modern aerial combat strategies, joint mission planning, and aviation technology through mutual exchange. The exercise aims to further strengthen interoperability between the air forces of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

A joint strategy to counter emerging aerial threats will also be developed during the exercise. The ISPR spokesperson stated that the exercise will not only reinforce defense cooperation between the two nations but also aligns with PAF’s vision of expanding international military training collaboration and operational synergy.

The Pakistan Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining air superiority by adapting to the evolving requirements of modern warfare.
