In a landmark move to bolster maritime security and enforcement, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Gadani, proudly inaugurated its first-ever Marine Enforcement Unit (MEU) on 3rd September 2025. This strategic initiative marks a new era of operational capability, enhancing the department’s reach, responsiveness, and regulatory oversight along Pakistan’s coastal frontier. After years of dormancy, the MEU’s speed boat has been restored to full operational status, now actively conducting regular marine patrols. This revitalization is set to dramatically improve visibility, mobility, and enforcement in the maritime domain, ensuring tighter control over illegal activities and better protection of national interests. The establishment of the MEU reflects the forward-thinking leadership of Chief Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi, whose vision for a robus.
