Ali Haider’s new single ‘Ijazat’ rekindles the magic of 90s pop

After an interlude of nearly a decade, legendary Pakistani pop luminary Ali Haider resurfaces in the musical arena with his latest single, Ijazat.

The release signifies a meticulously curated comeback, fusing his signature emotive vocals with contemporary production finesse, instantly captivating audiences across digital platforms.

Unveiled on Sunday, the track rapidly ascended the charts on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, eliciting widespread acclaim.

Enthusiasts lauded its melodious composition, understated yet polished production, and Haider’s instantly recognizable timbre, which preserves the poignant emotionality emblematic of 1990s Pakistani pop.

In an evocative social media note, Haider remarked, “Hello doston, Ijazat is finally here for you. My team and I have endeavored to deliver the finest auditory experience. We sincerely hope this resonates with you.”

The accompanying music video, conceptualized and produced in Houston, Texas Haider’s current domicile  received commendation for its cinematic quality, meticulous choreography, and visual sophistication. Fans praised it as a thoughtfully orchestrated re-entry rather than a mere nostalgic reprise.

This return follows Haider’s candid reflections on his extended hiatus from Pakistan and the music industry. In a podcast appearance last year, he disclosed that escalating security threats and extortion in the post-2010 era rendered life increasingly precarious for his family.

His father was compelled to shutter a printing enterprise due to coercion, while Haider himself faced menacing calls, precipitating profound emotional turbulence.

During this tumultuous period, he gravitated towards spiritual introspection, engaging deeply with Hamd, Naat, and other religious poetry.

Haider noted that his mother ultimately advised him to relocate abroad for safety around 2013–2014, after which he transitioned to the United States on a concert visa.

With Ijazat, Ali Haider now reasserts his presence in the musical landscape, reconnecting with audiences both domestically and internationally, reaffirming that his artistry and emotive resonance remain as compelling as ever.
