President Donald Trump was spotted showing off his dance moves during his weekend arrival in Malaysia, prompting fresh questions about his wellbeing.
Footage that rapidly spread across X (formerly Twitter) captured Trump, 79, swaying to music as he moved forward to meet what appeared to be Malaysian officials.
Social media erupted with commentary from users who were quick to mock the POTUS over his dancing on X.
Numerous X users criticised Trump’s Malaysian performance, with one observing, “he has the rhythm of a mannequin that’s been granted ten seconds of life to act human.”
Another posted, “wtf is he doing? How embarrassing.”
A fourth person commented: “What in the cringelord is he doing?”
Some observers pointed out he wasn’t moving his left side as extensively as his right, fuelling health concerns, with one stating, “oh my God. I’m so embarrassed. And I guess he can’t move the other arm anymore. This is so humiliating.”
One user even declared, “he couldn’t even try not to embarrass us.”
Trump triggered a similar reaction when he started dancing at an Easter brunch hosted at his Mar-a-Lago resort in April 2024.
A Trump supporter reposted clips of his eye-catching exit with the caption, “PRESIDENT Donald J Trump showing off his dance moves yesterday at the amazing Mar-a-Lago Easter celebration! Barron Trump following in his Dads footsteps! TRUMP 2024!”.
In the video, Trump was spotted energetically waving his arm as he left the event.
Body language expert Judi James told The Mirror that his movement “mimics drying the back of your neck with a towel after a shower,” and his hands were “balled into fists.”
She also observed he showed “a rather determined facial expression,” which she reckoned was designed to make people smile, but she felt that this attempt at a victory gesture didn’t work and instead fell “flat.”
Judi added, “Trump seems to make his exit from the room meaningful and emphatic here, throwing some high, ‘hail’ waves to the family, almost as though saying goodbye for a long time.”
Judi might have been referring to the possibility of Trump spending the rest of his life in prison due to the criminal charges he was facing early last year, before his hush-money trial involving adult film actress Stormy Daniels began on April 15.
