Gold and silver prices jump sharply in local market

KARACHI: A massive jump in gold rates has been recorded nationwide, with per tola prices rising by more than Rs15, 000.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola rose by Rs15, 700, bringing the new rate to Rs504, 162.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs13, 460, reaching Rs432, 237.

On the global front, gold prices also saw a sharp rise, climbing by $157 to settle at $4,814 per ounce.

Alongside a major surge in gold prices, silver rates in the local market also recorded a notable increase.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of silver per tola rose by Rs440, reaching Rs8, 184.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs377, climbing to Rs7,016.
