LPG prices reduce in Pakistan

LPG prices in Pakistan have started to decline following the restoration of supply from Iran.

Ali Haider, convener of the LPG standing committee of the FPCCI, said that daily supply of about 6,000 tonnes of LPG from Iran has returned to normal, improving availability in the market.

He added that after the resumption of supply, LPG prices have already dropped by 20 rupees per kilogram, with a further reduction of 50 rupees per kilogram expected in the coming days.

Ali Haider noted that OGRA had set the official price of LPG at 304 rupees per kilogram, but some parties had raised it to between 440 and 450 rupees per kilogram. He also stated that Pakistan meets around 65 percent of its LPG needs through imports, 90 percent of which come from Iran.
