PM Shehbaz Chairs Key Security Meeting

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is presiding over a high-level meeting in Islamabad attended by military leadership and senior cabinet members to review national security and regional developments.

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,17, 2025) A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently underway in Islamabad, with top military leadership and senior members of the Federal cabinet in attendance.

According to sources, the meeting is reviewing matters related to national and internal security, while also discussing the situation in Afghanistan.

The session was convened in response to the recent aggression by Afghan Taliban and the evolving regional circumstances.

Sources indicated that key decisions are expected during the meeting.

Chief ministers of all four provinces, along with the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, are also participating in the session.

In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz has called another important meeting to review the damage caused by recent floods across the country. The meeting will assess relief and rehabilitation efforts for the affected population and also discuss the national wheat policy.
