Punjab introduces free body transport service in Three cities

The service will work within city limits in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the province’s first free body transport service to support families during difficult times.

In the first phase, the service will be available in public hospitals in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. She handed over the keys of the vehicles for these cities and also inspected the fleet.

During the launch, she met rescue staff, appreciated their work, and asked them to serve people with dedication.

She said that along with transport, families will also be given counseling and emotional support after the death of a patient. She clearly directed that no money should be taken for this service, even if families offer to pay.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said the service will work within city limits in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan, while private ambulances will help in other cities.

Director General Rescue Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer said people can request the service by calling 1122, and special desks will be set up in public hospitals to manage body transport arrangements.
