‘Wife Swap’ Star Caley Svensson Speaks Out on Shocking Feud with Joe Gorga!

Emily Simpson’s Wife Swap partner Caley Svensson is opening up about her unexpected connection to Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Melissa and Joe Gorga — and the feud that “exploded” after Joe used a photo of her home in a “fake” house-flipping post.

In a TikTok video posted on November 7, Caley addressed her past clash with the Gorgas, which stemmed from a 2020 Instagram post Joe shared showing before-and-after photos of a home he claimed to have flipped.

“Yes, the Gorgas and I had a little small thing a couple years ago about my old house,” Caley recalled. “He claimed to have built my house and flipped it, and he used my home picture on his Instagram, when, in fact, he did not build it or flip it, and it was actually the wrong address. It was kind of, like, a little scamish. And I simply just asked him to take it down, and he didn’t, and that was when it kind of exploded.”

According to Caley, “people caught onto it” quickly. “We don’t communicate at all. And eventually the picture was taken down, and he admitted that the house that he claimed to have flipped was obviously not mine,” she said. “And it went away.”

The New Jersey native found the coincidence “ironic,” noting, “I did grow up in Franklin Lakes. I lived in Franklin Lakes for over 20 years. I worked at the Market Basket and grew up there. So, yes, I’m very familiar with the area they live in and where they are … [But] I live about 20 minutes away from them now in a different part of Bergen County.”

Back in 2020, property records confirmed that Caley was the real owner of the “after” home Joe had posted. At the time, she called the situation “really strange,” explaining that a friend had tagged her on the post, which prompted her to reach out to Joe directly.

“It’s clearly our house,” she said in a interview. “I messaged [Joe] on the post to please remove it, but he never responded. I DMed him, as well, and he never responded either.” She added that she and her husband purchased the home from a builder in December 2018 — one who had “built it from the ground up” after the previous structure was “totally demolished.”

“[It has a] new basement and everything,” she said at the time. “It was not a flip.” In Joe’s original post, the RHONJ star had captioned the side-by-side photos: “Look at this flip worth $1.9M. Took me 6 months to turn this around. Ripped off the roof & added to the second floor. I think I might move in.”

Fans immediately noticed inconsistencies and began questioning the legitimacy of the post. Several pointed out that the “before” home was listed for sale under a completely different address on Realtor.com.

Caley reportedly reached out to her builder’s lawyer and considered legal action after Joe allegedly ignored her repeated requests to remove the image. Eventually, the post was deleted. Now, years later, Caley says there’s no contact between her and the Gorgas — but the experience was unforgettable.
