Punjab announces schools opening date

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has confirmed that schools across the province will reopen on April 1. His statement comes amid ongoing rumors that holidays might be extended due to the current energy situation.

Previously, there had been a proposal to keep schools closed until April 15 and introduce a hybrid learning system, but no official decision had been made. The minister’s announcement now clarifies the academic schedule and ends the uncertainty about when schools will resume.

The confirmation follows days of discussion and speculation about whether the break would continue, especially in light of recommendations to reduce energy use.
