ASO Karachi Achieves Major Success in Eastern Sector Anti-Smuggling Operation – CustomsNews.pk Daily

Karachi: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Karachi, has achieved a major breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against petroleum smuggling. Acting on the clear directives of Chief Collector Basit Abbasi, and under the dynamic supervision of Collector Moinuddin Wani, the ASO team successfully executed a high-impact operation in the Eastern Sector on 05 January 2026.  

The operation led to the seizure of 38,433 litres of smuggled petroleum products, including 36,341 litres of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) and 2,092 litres of petrol, with an estimated value of 1 crore rupees.  

Leadership and Coordination

This success reflects the visionary guidance of Chief Collector Basit Abbasi, whose emphasis on zero tolerance against smuggling has strengthened enforcement operations. Collector Moinuddin Wani’s proactive monitoring ensured seamless coordination across multiple districts.  

The operation was further reinforced by the strategic planning of Additional Collector Raza Naqvi, who streamlined field intelligence, and the dedicated efforts of Assistant Collector Ms. Bisma, whose team played a pivotal role in execution on the ground.

Pakistan Customs reiterated its unwavering resolve to safeguard the integrity of the petroleum supply chain. The department emphasized that such operations are part of a broader strategy to curb smuggling, protect revenue, and ensure fair market practices.
