FIFA reopens final ticket sales phase for World Cup 2026

As the countdown to the 2026 World Cup continues, FIFA has reopened its last-minute ticket sales window for all 104 matches.

The tournament, scheduled to begin on June 11 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, has already seen strong demand, with FIFA confirming that more than five million tickets have been sold out of an expected total of just over six million.

According to FIFA, tickets available in this phase will include Categories 1 to 3, as well as front-row seating options, depending on match availability.

The governing body also stated that additional tickets will continue to be released periodically until the final match on July 19, subject to availability.

However, ticket pricing has drawn criticism from several quarters. Last month, a group of U.S. lawmakers urged FIFA to reduce prices, arguing that the use of variable pricing could make the tournament less accessible for ordinary fans.

In response, FIFA introduced a limited number of $60 “Supporter Entry Tier” tickets in December to improve affordability. These tickets account for around 10% of allocations for Participating Member Associations.

FIFA clarified that it is using a variable pricing model, where prices may be adjusted based on demand and availability, rather than fully automated dynamic pricing.

This system was applied during the initial sales phases, paused during later rounds, and has now been reinstated for the final ticket release stage.

The latest ticket sales phase will open at 11:00 AM ET (1500 GMT) on Wednesday.
