Gold prices see significant spike nationwide

KARACHI: The gold prices witnessed a sharp increase across the country, rising by thousands of rupees per tola, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association.

The association reported that the price of gold per tola surged by Rs4, 600, bringing the new rate to Rs499, 962.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs3, 943, reaching Rs428, 636.

Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices climbed by $46 per ounce, settling at $4,776 per ounce, reflecting a broader upward trend in global bullion markets.

Following a sharp increase in gold prices, silver rates have also climbed across the country.

According to market data, the price of silver per tola increased by Rs326, reaching Rs8, 260. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs279 to settle at Rs7, 081.

The uptick in silver prices comes in tandem with the recent surge in gold rates, reflecting broader movements in the precious metals market.

t is worth noting that both global and local gold prices had recorded a decline over the weekend and on Monday, before rebounding with a strong upward trend.
