LESCO reduces export rate for net metering users

Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced a reduction in the export rate for net metering customers.

Under the new billing policy, the export rate for net metering users has been decreased by 66 paisa per unit, bringing it down from Rs 25.98 to Rs 25.32 per unit.

According to LESCO’s notification, the new policy will be effective from the January 2026 billing cycle. The policy also includes restrictions on export units exceeding the approved DG (Distributed Generation) capacity, and any additional export units will be limited proportionally to the DG capacity.

The notification further states that adjustments for export units under CP 22 will continue, and net metering users must ensure the correct registration of export MDI (Maximum Demand Indicator) to comply with the new regulations.

This change aims to streamline billing for renewable energy users while ensuring proper management of electricity export to the grid.
