Man shot dead in broad daylight in Sydney as police make arrests

A man has died in west Sydney after being shot multiple times in broad daylight, police have confirmed

New South Wales (NSW) police were called to Carinya Street, Blacktown, at about 11.50am on Friday, November 28, following reports of a public place shooting.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command found a man with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and leg.

He was treated by NSW ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene.

Police also attempted to stop a Mazda utility that was seen leaving the scene.

“When the vehicle did not stop, a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated a short time later when the vehicle crashed on Kildare Road,” the NSW Police Force said in a statement.

Two occupants ran from the scene and were arrested a shortly after, NSW police said. Both have been taken to Blacktown Police Station.

A crime scene has been established and police have begun inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

They urged anyone with information to contact their Crime Stopper unit.
