Pakistan, UAE agree to expand economic and investment ties

DUBAI: President Asif Ali Zardari met with UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai, where both leaders agreed to further strengthen Pakistan–UAE bilateral relations.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asifa Bhutto Zardari were also present during the meeting.

The discussion focused on enhancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation, while both leaders exchanged views on benefiting from Dubai’s successful development model.

President Zardari extended an invitation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to visit Pakistan.

The meeting also emphasized expanding cooperation in ports, logistics, and information technology sectors.

President Zardari briefed the UAE leadership on economic reforms and privatization initiatives underway in Pakistan.

The United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its continued support for Pakistan’s economic development and appreciated the positive role played by the Pakistani community in the UAE.
