After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Sri Lanka Women put up a fighting total of 205/9 in their 50 overs. The innings was anchored by impressive half-centuries from Imesha Dulani and Hansima Karunaratne. Dulani scored a patient 52 off 77 balls, while Karunaratne matched her effort with a well-compiled 54 off 71 deliveries.

The pair helped rebuild the innings after an early setback, but Sri Lanka struggled to accelerate in the death overs. Kavisha Dilhari contributed a handy 30, while Hasini Perera and Kaushani Nuthyangana chipped in with useful runs. Bangladesh’s chase got off to a shaky start with early wickets putting them on the back foot. However, Sharmin Akhter played a crucial role in stabilizing the innings. Her composed 86 off 127 balls, including 13 boundaries, proved to be the backbone of the chase.

She found solid support from Mostary, who scored a fluent 41 off 56 balls, helping Bangladesh recover with a vital partnership. Later, Shorna Akter added a quick 35 off 48 balls, including a six, to push the hosts closer to the target.

Sri Lanka bowlers kept the contest alive with regular breakthroughs. Dewmi Vihanga was the most effective, picking up 3 wickets, while Malki Madara grabbed 2 wickets. Inoka Ranaweera and Nimasha Madushani chipped in with one wicket each. Despite their efforts, the total proved slightly insufficient as Bangladesh managed to cross the line with 9 balls remaining.
