Maryam Nawaz cancels all Basant festivities in Punjab

Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of national unity against extremist threats and their supporters.

Lahore: Following the tragic incident in Islamabad, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the cancellation of all Basant-related events in the province.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Maryam Nawaz said “Following the unfortunate incident in Islamabad, all scheduled Basant activities have been cancelled.”

She further announced that the mega Basant show at Liberty Square would also be called off. Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of national unity against extremist threats and their supporters.

She added, “No leniency should be shown to such elements and the nation must stand shoulder to shoulder with our Armed Forces in defence of the country. Pakistan Zindabad.”
